Nigerian rapper Mohbad dies at 27

 

 The popular singles Ponmo, Feel Good, and KPK (Ko Por Ke) with Rexxie made Mohbad famous.

Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, was a prominent Nigerian rapper and musician. His death has been verified.

He was 27.

     His cause of death is still a mysteryFollowing news of his passing on Tuesday, the entertainment business and his followers were plunged into a state of sadness.  The moment the musician was pronounced dead was captured in a brief video clip that has been going viral on social media.The person recording the video wails his name while pointing to his dead body inside a bus.


Details about the rapper's passing have not yet been made public as of the time of this story.

On social media, a lot of musicians and celebrities have expressed their sorrow for the singer. 

Olamide, a well-known rapper, announced the artist's passing on his own page with an exclamation and a broken heart emoji.

"Damn, Mohbad!" he wrote. 

Additionally, prominent television host Frank Edoho expressed sorrow over Mohbad's passing.

His voice was too rich and sophisticated for someone his age (27). Really depressing😢 Rip, Mohbad. He composed.

The Revelation of Bella Shmurda

    Abiola Akinbiyi, better known by her stage as Bella Shmurda, a Nigerian singer and composer, disclosed a suicide attempt made by Mohbad in January, The musician explained the attempt in an interview with media personality Chude Jidenowo, saying it was made because of problems with his record label.

"I don't have to say this, but I'll say it, he said. Mohbad and I briefly shared an apartment at one point. This label issue made Mohbad want to jump from the upstairs."

  He described the scenario and claimed that after Mohbad's girlfriend found him seated by the window, they stopped him from doing the act.  

    Additionally, he stated that Mohbad had been to the hospital to receive treatment for hypertension, adding, "Why? Because, let's suppose, you label. It cannot go on. Someone must speak.

ABOUT MOHBAD RECORD LABEL 

2019 saw the release of Mohbad's debut EP, Light, following his signing a record deal with Marlian Records World.


The EP's eight songs include performances by Lil Kesh, Davido, and Naira Marley.

He announced his departure from Marlian Records after two years.


On October 5, 2022, Mohbad confronted musician Naira Marley about his choice to hire a different manager to handle his music and commercial matters. Marley said that Mohbad had used domestic violence against him and that his previous boss had given orders for individuals to beat him up.

In November 2022, Mohbad started his own record label named "Imolenization" following the dispute with his boss.

He received three nominations for the 2022 Headies Awards.
