WhatsApp's list of supported devices is updated on a regular basis. It terminated support for a few haI love u ndsets in December 2022, and now there's an update: starting next month, a new set of Android phones won't be able to operate the popular Meta-owned messaging platform. Take a look at the information provided below.
These Phones Will Stop Supporting WhatsApp!
WhatsApp has announced that it will no longer support smartphones running Android 4.1 or below after October 24, 2023. After that date, it will only support phones running Android 5.1 and higher.
The messaging platform will continue to work with iPhones running iOS 12 and later, as well as KaiOS 2.5.0 and later. This includes the JioPhone and JioPhone 2. This has not changed since December of last year, which is great news for anyone who still have devices running iOS 12 and KaiOS 2.5.0. There is a chance that WhatsApp will change by the end of the year, but nothing is certain as of yet.
While the change will only effect a small fraction of users, those who are still using phones running Android 4.1 should finally upgrade for security and privacy reasons. If you don't know what Android version your phone is running, go to Settings -> About Phone to find out. If your gadget is on WhatsApp's hit list, you have about a month to prepare for the upgrade.
A complete list of Android phones that will no longer support WhatsApp is unknown, although it is likely to include models from Sony, HTC, LG, and others. It was roughly 49 phones the last time! So, is your phone one of those that will no longer be able to use WhatsApp after next month? lets know in the comment section below
