Meta to begin WhatsApp business owners’ verification

 

Meta plans to launch business verification on WhatsApp soon.

This was revealed during a media briefing with Meta's VP of business messaging, Nikila Srinivasan, on Tuesday, the details of which were embargoed until Wednesday.

The company announced that it will soon begin to allow businesses to receive Meta verification, so that users know they are conversing with the correct organization. It stated that firms must establish their validity to Meta in order to earn a verified badge, increased account assistance, and impersonation protection.

   "For businesses interested in signing up, Meta Verified will come with additional premium features such as the ability to create a custom WhatsApp page that is easily discoverable via a web search, and multi-device support so multiple employees can respond to customers," said the company's Vice President. We'll start testing Meta Verified with small businesses using the WhatsApp Business app soon before rolling it out to firms on the WhatsApp Business Platform."

  In addition, the company announced the development of Flows, a feature that would allow businesses to offer their whole range of services without leaving the conversation.

  "With flows, businesses will be able to provide rich menus and customizable forms that support various needs," it stated. In the next weeks, we will make Flows available to businesses all across the world through the WhatsApp Business Platform."
